Drop: A Poem

A single drop
tear drop shaped
trickles to a stop,
lingers for a while
and then falls off the lip
to a puddle waiting.

Concentric circles
start rippling
from the point of fall
sorrow leaving it’s mark.
And then fading
after a while
leaving the puddle
just one drop fuller.
